Pilates

Pilates for beginners, intermediate & advanced levels

Developed in the 1920s by the legendary physical trainer and founder of The New York Pilates Studio®, Joseph H. Pilates, The Pilates Method is an exercise system focused on improving flexibility and strength for the total body from the inside out without building bulk.

Osteopaths, physiotherapists and general practitioners are now recommending Pilates as one of the safest forms of exercise today.

Pilates is a body conditioning program that helps build flexibility and strength in the legs, abdominals, arms, hips, and back. It targets spinal and pelvic alignment and incorporates a breathing technique to relieve stress and helps develop a strong core, which in turn helps improve coordination and balance.

As you progress through the different levels, Pilates exercises are modified in range of difficulty from beginners to advanced increasing intensity over time as the body strengthens and adapts to the exercises. No muscle group is under or over worked. Pilates improves core strength, helps to correct posture and imbalances in the body and increases flexibility and range of movement.
